Boys Like Ladies are again, child.
At the moment, the pop-punk band dropped their first tune since 2012, “Blood and Sugar” (out on Fearless Data/Harmony). It’s a welcomed return from the Boston-bred group, and as indulgent as its lyrics about an intoxicating, if unfulfilling relationship, are — that includes overvalued percussion, guitars, and manufacturing resonant of ’80s glam rock.

In a press launch, vocalist Martin Johnson mentioned the tune is about “an empty calorie
relationship that’s so scrumptious you don’t care” and are “prepared to cope with the crash.” He mentioned, “I feel everybody has an infatuation with one thing dangerous for them. Cigarettes.
Sports activities playing. Porn. Web validation. Tablets that change the way in which you are feeling. Shopping for too
many sneakers. I do know I spend plenty of time making an attempt to fill the empty gap the place medication was once. I
spend more often than not making an attempt to fill that gap with ‘perfection.’ However ultimately … no person’s
good. Hey. we’re solely blood and sugar, proper?”
It’s not all we’ll be listening to from the pop-rock foursome both. Boys Like Ladies have confirmed that they’re engaged on new music, with extra updates — together with bulletins of a tour — coming quickly.
Within the meantime, you may hear to “Blood and Sugar” beneath.
